I got my first taste of company interests yesterday with server room temperature monitoring and detection sensors and how to lower costs with environment conditioning and temperature monitoring. During my orientation, my new boss let me get a glimpse at the special temperature monitoring and detection sensor we have installed in both our server room and data center.Weekly/ Monthly Temperature Graph

Web-Based Environmental Monitoring

Here at Ravica,we have an army of sensorProbes from temperature sensors, humidity sensors, spot water sensors, smoke detectors etc. The temperature monitoring and detection system we keep for monitoring temperatures in the server rooms and offices was nice enough to draw up a neat graph of weekly and monthly temperature monitoring trends which can be viewed online. Our temperature monitors produced an analysis of temperature trends, and what we noticed is an enormous temperature gradient throughout the day in our computer room environment. Did you know that improper temperature control and humidity levels can actually increase chemical reactions that deteriorate electronic hardware?

Graphic Trends Observe a Temperature Gradient Issue

In the morning, air conditioner would allow the temperature to consistently rise to an uncomfortable and humid 83°F. By the middle of the day, the air conditioner would counter the heat and drop the temperature to a chilly 61°F. The air conditioner was even cooling the entire building on weekends. What a waste of energy! Think of the costs poured into temperature conditioning! Learn more about energy efficiency. Think of the damage those temperature and humidity conditions could have on our servers!

Solving the Temperature Critical Condition

And that folks, is why we have an environmental monitoring and detection system in place. Once we noticed the problem, we took action. The sensorProbe and temperature sensor was set to e-mail the land lord who is sending a team to check up on the AC units. Energy is saved, and that’s money in our pockets and pocket money is good. Set up the sensorProbe in at home, data centers, server rooms, or in the office for optimal savings.

If you’re interested in some pocket money, then consider installing a server room environmental monitoring system to prevent unnecessary energy expenditure. What’s your solution to lower costs? Comment below or give us a call today to discuss a custom server room monitoring and detection solution.
